Janelle’s musical training started with Richard Turner in Winnipeg and continued in Vancouver with Rita Costanzi and Heidi Krutzen. Since her graduation from the University of British, Janelle has been taking master classes and workshops with harpists and musicians of different styles of music including Latin, jazz, Celtic and folk. This has given her much motivation in her composing, playing and singing.  Janelle has also been studying voice for over many years with such teachers as Phyllis Thompson, Joanne Mercier and Patricia Dahlquist.

Janelle is currently composing music for harp and voice, teaching harp and working on a solo album. One of Janelle’s passions is to play solo concerts showcasing different genres of harp music. She also plays for weddings, corporate functions and other gatherings in need of harp background music.

Janelle has been invited to perform at the World Harp Congress!

The Paraguayan Adventure

Janelle and her parents ventured to South America on an exciting venture to the blazing sun and heat of Chile and Paraguay!  After spending three weeks in the glorious country of Chile sipping wine and enjoying the country side. Janelle and her Mom flew to Paraguay to pursue her passion in the Paraguayan music for a week.  They  came upon the best harp maker in the city who introduced her to the only semi-English speaking harpist there!  He left her with a harp in the hotel room to practice on as he came with his own harp every day to teach her about the love, the heart ache, the patriotism and most of all, the speed of their music.  By the end of the week Janelle had learned two beautiful pieces Mi Noches Sinti  and Tres de Mayo from harpist, Sixto Corbalan.  Janelle fell so in love with the music and the instrument that she did not leave without getting a harp made for her to be sent to Canada!

Janelle is a great performer; she makes it look so easy! And fun!

The music was stunning. There were so many times in the concert when your harping was breathtaking.

Nadeau’s natural soprano voice added its own charm, performing What Child is This with sweet innocence as well as  expressive Friendly Beasts.
